30 March 2020: Media Reviews from 2017

I have always been an avid consumer of movies, TV shows, and books, for as long as I can remember, but taking the time to analyze and review such media is a learned skill. Or, in my case, hobby.

On my (now-retired) blog, I wrote a number of reviews for books and movies, but there were three that I think are my favorite:

  • Anna Karenina: the Book vs. the Movie - written in March of 2017, I had just finished reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and decided to compare it to the 2012 movie starring Keira Knightley. It was a very long book, however, I did enjoy it.

  • Dracula: The 1992 Film vs. the Novel - The story behind this review is similar to that of Anna Karenina. I read this book in December 2017 and wanted to compare it to a movie. This was a mistake and I had many thoughts.

  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The 1992 Movie - this was written in April 2017 and is, by my own omission, more of a fun play-by-play of the 1992 Buffy movie starring Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry. I watched the show long before I ever knew about the existence of the movie, but now it is a cult classic favorite of mine.

Should you choose to read these media reviews, I hope you enjoy them!
