12 May 2022: Adjusting Goals

Earlier this year, I declared that I wanted to be done with the revision of Just Friends by July. With nineteen days left in the school year and a very busy summer ahead (so many concerts!), I don't know if that's going to happen.

I've made decent progress, yes, and I'm about seven chapters from the end, but my productivity has definitely slowed since April ended.

It's hard to remain productive without the structure of Camp, I'll admit. My executive dysfunction gets the better of me more often than I'd like to admit, but my job is both physically and mentally draining so I don't fight it when I want to relax.

Over the last few weeks, I've written about 2000 words.

As a result, it's necessary to readjust my goals:

  • Finish chapter 12 by the end of May

  • Finish chapter 13-14 by the end of June

  • Finish revision by the end of Camp NaNo in July

We shall see how this shakes out, but I can always readjust my goals later. What's important is that I'm committing to finishing the revision.

One step closer to self-publication!
